Optimizes the energy-efficiency of a data center
Innovates with the Siloctet data center in silo

VERT.COM, inc. is an innovative canadian company based in the province of Quebec working in the field of Information and Communication Technologies since 2006. The company extended into the first Cleantech Design Office in North America specializing in the conception and the design of eco-efficient data center in silo.

During the years of 2010 and 2011, we have conceived the Siloctet Rehab, a project which purpose is to rehabilitate grain elevators into green data centers (merger of silo and octet). To realize our project, we were inspired by the new technology invented by Professor Marc Parizeau, Ph.D. (VP Technologies at VERT.COM, inc.) within the CLUMEQ project of Laval University. During that time, we worked together with the Canada Lands Company, owner of the Silo #5 site, located in the Old Port of Montreal,  with the objective of developing the Siloctet Rehab project to rehabilitate their property (Annex B1), thus creating a structuring and mobilizing project for Montreal and the province of Quebec. So far, the Siloctet Rehab project is being reviewed by the CLC in order to fit with its 2012-2017 master development plan.

Our Cleantech Design Office (eco-design and energy efficiency) keeps the innovation going with a new solution we developed: Siloctet Prefab, an eco-designed data center in silo.  A solution which offers a pre-engineered, standardized and prefabricated module ready for on-site assembly and configured for scalable deployment. Hosting the data center infrastructure, this vertical and modular environment is designed to highly increase the energy efficiency. The module is a true intelligent cooling chamber with a simple and reliable hybrid technology. Complemented and controlled by SiloSmart, a specific infrastructure management system, which provides real-time monitoring to optimize and recover energy use.
